The Giver of Life and Carrier of Light
"Oshadi" is the Indian word used for healing plants. Literally, it means "giver of life" or "carrier of light." This describes the action of essential oils as they are formed in plant cells by the action of the sun. For many centuries essential oils and other aromatics were used for religious rituals, the treatment of illness, and other physical and spiritual needs. As yoga has been around for some 5,000 years, the multi- purposeful applications of essential oils are known to date back to 4500 BC.
Candace uses Young Living and several other oil brands in her practice. Her own line, Vidya Essential Oils and Products for Ritualistic Living is currently in production.
Essentials oils come from plants, trees or grasses. They are stored in tiny oil glands or sacs which are concentrated in different parts of the plant. They are the source of all fragrance in flowers, leafs, spices, fruits and aromatic woods and herbs. They may be found in the petals (Rose), leaves (Eucalyptus), roots of grass (Verivert), heart wood (Sandalwood), rind of the fruit (Lemon), seeds (Caraway), rhizomes (Ginger) or resin (Pine) and sometimes in more than one part of the plant. Lavender, yields from both the flowers and the leaves, while an orange tree produces three different kinds of essences. The more oil glands present in the plant, the cheaper the oil, and vice versa.
Essential Oils and Healing purposes for Mind, Body and Spirit
Essential oils can be a readily available ally in healing in today's busy world. They are quite versatile in their therapeutic effect and work on a aromatic level, an esthetic level and on a clinicial level-physically, physiologically, and psychologically. Essential oils are a great complimentary therapy for these reasons and why Candace incorportates this mode of healing in combination with yoga and educational kinesiology. Essential oils are easy to use and don't lose potency or spoil. Their usage is extensive and profound.
